The Kylian Mbappe transfer saga has once again taken centre stage as the superstar forward has entered the final six months of his contract at PSG. Real Madrid are once again being talked about as the French ace’s next destination.
There has been plenty of talk about Los Blancos setting a mid-January deadline for Mbappe to reach an agreement with the club over a free transfer in the summer.
And some reports even suggested that there was already an agreement in place between the two parties, although the player’s entourage quickly moved to dismiss those claims.
But with Mbappe maintaining silence, it appears that Real Madrid are running out of patience quickly.
Real Madrid believe Mbappe will renew with PSG
Indeed, as per journalist Jose Felix Diaz on Ruben Martin’s Twitch channel, Real Madrid are starting to believe that the whole Kylian Mbappe saga will once again end with him renewing his contract with PSG.
It was the same case back in 2022 when Los Blancos believed that they had everything closed to sign the French superstar, only for him to perform a late U-turn and ink a new deal with the Ligue 1 champions.
As things stand, PSG have already tabled a fresh renewal offer for Mbappe, and their president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, recently admitted that the club wishes for the 25-year-old stay put at the club.
Now, Real Madrid are starting to believe that it is now things will unfold, with Mbappe penning a new deal with Les Parisiens.
Haaland Plan B?
With Mbappe and his camp seemingly not taking a step towards Real Madrid, the Spanish capital club are slowly starting to assess other options with Erling Haaland of Manchester City emerging as their favourite target.
However, signing the 23-year-old from the English champions will be anything but straightforward even though some reports suggest that he has a release clause worth around €175 million in his contract.
Recent reports have also suggested the name of Victor Osimhen of Napoli as a possible alternative. It remains to be seen which way Real Madrid lean, with still some time left for the summer transfer window.
