Real Madrid have very clear intentions heading into the winter and summer transfer markets. They have no plans to sign any player in January, despite ACL injuries to their starting centre-backs David Alaba and Eder Militao.
Nor will they bring in another striker as they believe Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Joselu, Brahim Diaz, and Arda Guler are more than enough reinforcement. Not to forget Jude Bellingham, who is essentially functioning as a centre-forward.
Things will be different in the summer, though. Madrid will be hoping to sign a forward, preferably Kylian Mbappe, who is available on a free transfer should he choose not to renew his contract with PSG.
Carlo Ancelotti will also likely demand a centre-back, and if Toni Kroos and/or Luka Modric leave, maybe another central midfielder or two.
However, their focus will be on Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies, as per Jose Felix Diaz (h/t RM4Arab). The Canadian is Madrid’s top priority heading into the summer transfer window, and they will be looking to start negotiations with his camp and the club soon.
Davies’ contract expires in 2025, which Madrid will use as an opportunity to sign him on a discounted price come the summer. Bayern have not opened contract extension talks with him yet, either.
This could likely result in the sale of Ferland Mendy, who has been closing in on the exit door for a while now. The Frenchman is reluctant to stay, though, and wants to prove his worth to the club in the second half of the season.
He will likely end up costing them upwards of €40-50 million, but with the left-back market pretty dry as it is right now, Madrid believe Davies can be the answer to their problems for a few years down the line.
