In spite of the fact that he is just 17 years old, Endrick is already experiencing a great deal of success in his football career.
Having had a good season at the first-team level, the young striker, who was recruited by Real Madrid in December of last year, won his second Brasileiro championship with Palmeiras last night.
Endrick had been on the transfer wishlist of several teams in the previous year, including FC Barcelona, which is Real Madrid’s most bitter rival. This was due to the explosive performances that Endrick had been on.
Los Blancos triumphed in the end, agreeing to a contract of €35 million plus €25 million in add-ons and another €12 million in taxes and commission. The Blaugrana made efforts to persuade the adolescent center-forward to join them, but Los Blancos ultimately prevailed.
Now, Luis Suarez, a former superstar player for Barcelona who now plays for Gremio in Brazil, has said that he would have preferred to see Endrick sign with the Catalan club instead of Gremio.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Suarez said, “I would have liked Endrick to have signed for Barca, but he has to decide and enjoy football, and football will enjoy him.” Suarez’s statement was cited in the publication.
Adding to his praise for the coming star, Suarez said, “He is a star, he is still very young, he is taking his first steps.” The growing star will come in Madrid the following summer after he reaches the age of 18. I find it hard to believe that he has accomplished so much in one year. For many years to come, Brazil, Real Madrid, and the sport of football will be blessed with a star.
Particularly in light of the fact that Endrick was going through a bad spell earlier this year, the prospect of making such a massive investment on a young talent who had no previous experience playing in European football aroused eyebrows.
However, Real Madrid has never wavered in their belief and trust in Endrick, and the club is really pleased with the way he is progressing through his career.
According to recent sources, Los Blancos, in particular, have been left astonished by the attitude of the youth, and they see a hint of Pele in the manner that he plays.
