Carlo Ancelotti’s future as manager of Real Madrid has been a hot subject in recent months.
The Italian tactician’s contract with Los Blancos expires at the end of the season, and it is commonly assumed that he will become the next manager of the Brazil national team.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has been loud in its pursuit of Ancelotti, but the Real Madrid manager has distanced himself from the speculation and remains focused on the task at hand.
Real Madrid may extend Ancelotti’s contract.
However, there may be a twist in the story as writer Hugo Cerezo (h/t Madrid Xtra) reports that Real Madrid is contemplating extending Carlo Ancelotti a new two-year deal.
It is no secret that the 64-year-old has a unique relationship with club president Florentino Perez and the whole organization.
As a result, the Valdebebas’ top brass is contemplating granting Ancelotti a new contract to ensure the continuation of the project he began with a youthful core that includes Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo Goes, Jude Bellingham, and Eduardo Camavinga, among others.
The Real Madrid board intends to draft a renewal proposal that might even be for two years – whether one year with an option for a second or two years as a permanent – in order to keep Ancelotti and avoid Brazil.
Ancelotti concentrated on the moment.
For his part, the experienced manager is focused on the present and on winning more titles with Real Madrid.
However, recent rumors claimed that if granted a new contract, he would be willing to stay at the Bernabeu.
Ancelotti will review his choices and take stock of his future at a later point, but the wheels might be put in motion from Perez and Real Madrid’s end, with a renewal now very much on the table.
Nothing can be considered for certain until there is a signature and an agreement, with Xabi Alonso and Raul Gonzalez in position to succeed Ancelotti if he does not remain.
