Real Madrid have certainly answered a lot of people who thought they were completely dependent on Jude Bellingham. With the Englishman dealing with an injury, they won 3-0 over SC Braga in midweek and then followed it up with a 5-1 win against Valencia. Interestingly, both Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo looked better in the past two games.
That being said, Real Madrid fans will be hoping to see Bellingham back in action as soon as possible. He has without a doubt been the club’s best player this season and possibly even the best in the world. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 13 goals and provided 3 assists in 14 appearances in this campaign so far.
The good news is, it does not look like Bellingham’s injury is anything serious and he is expected to be back in action after the international break. But he will be assessed by the England national team.
As reported by ESPN, Carlo Ancelotti said about Bellingham’s situation in his post-match news conference:
“He’ll be assessed [by England].
“If he didn’t play today, he can’t play with the national team. He’ll do specific work on his shoulder. After the break he can play again.”
Real Madrid boss offers fresh Bellingham injury news
Let’s see how things play out with Bellingham. Hopefully, we will see him back on the pitch after the international break.
At the same time, does Ancelotti need to tweak his system a bit in order to make sure that Bellingham, Vinicius and Rodrygo are all performing at their best? That is a debate that has opened up following the Brazilian duo’s performances in the previous two games.
Real Madrid go into the international on the back of one of their best performances and results of the season, a 5-1 win over Valencia. When we return to action later this month, they will be taking on Cadiz away from home before welcoming Napoli to the Santiago Bernabeu. Let’s hope that Bellingham will be fit enough to start against the Italian champions, if not in Los Blancos’ next La Liga match.
