Former Netherlands international Ruud Gullit holds the view that the title of the best coach in Europe doesn’t belong to Pep Guardiola or Sir Alex Ferguson.
Instead, Gullit contends that Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti surpasses them as a more accomplished manager on the European stage.
Gullit’s perspective comes from Ancelotti’s unique achievement as the sole individual to have triumphed in all five major European leagues.
Furthermore, the Italian manager boasts an impressive track record of winning the Champions League four times, surpassing the accomplishments of both Guardiola and Ferguson in that regard.
For Gullit, Ancelotti’s remarkable success in European competitions, coupled with their shared history as AC Milan teammates during their playing days, solidifies his belief that the Real Madrid manager is the preeminent figure among European coaches.
“I think Ancelotti is a bit greater than Sir Alex [Ferguson] and Pep [Guardiola] due to the UEFA Champions League trophies he has won. He’s the King of European success,” Gullit told The Gambling Zone.
“Both Pep and Sir Alex are a part of history, but let’s look at what Ancelotti has achieved. He’s the King of Kings, better than anyone else, and I’m very proud of him” he added.
Gullit impressed by Jude Bellingham
Gullit, who once coached teams like Chelsea Newcastle United, and LA Galaxy to name a few, also said that he is very much impressed by Jude Bellingham’s performance at Real Madrid this season.
He added that the chance of Bellingham winning the coveted Ballon d’Or depends entirely on him.
”Whether Jude Bellingham should be in contention for the next Ballon d’Or will depend entirely on him. He was in with a chance this year,” Gullit stated.
“I like how quickly Jude has adapted to both the German and Spanish leagues. He plays with fantastic players and he has the best personnel around him.
“He’s a huge asset for English football. He’s the player you want to see when you go to the stadium,” he concluded.
