At the beginning of the summer transfer window in 2022, Real Madrid’s first objective was to finalize the signing of Jude Bellingham, a player who had been on their radar for some time.
In order to get the Englishman, they had to contend with the attention of the Premier League, which included Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United, all of which were determined to acquire him.
Bellingham ultimately decided to join with Madrid rather than the English giants, and the Blancos were forced to spend 103 million euros in order to get his services. This move has proved to be more than worthwhile thus far.
However, if one is to trust a claim that was published by Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid made an attempt to get Darwin Nunez from Liverpool over the summer before the Bellingham trade was finalized. At the beginning of June, they were contemplating the relocation for him.
Both Nunez and Liverpool were involved in discussions over the possibility of a move; however, Jurgen Klopp and the club board ultimately chose to retain the Uruguayan player at the club for the remainder of the season.
Nunez became the most expensive player in the history of Liverpool when he went to the club in the summer of 2022 for a total of about €100 million, which included add-ons throughout the transfer process. In spite of the fact that his time at the club has been such a roller coaster thus far, they have put their whole trust in him.
In an effort to find a suitable replacement for Karim Benzema, who abruptly departed for Al-Ittihad at the conclusion of the season, Madrid was reportedly considering making a deal for the striker.
In the end, Florentino Perez decided against acquiring a top striker to take his position. Instead, he placed his faith in the acquisition of Joselu and Brahim Diaz, in addition to Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, of course.
Over the course of this season, Bellingham has been their most important striker, scoring twenty goals across both La Liga and the Champions League.
In spite of this, they will make an effort to get Kylian Mbappe over the summer months, since the player is eventually going to depart Paris Saint-Germain at the conclusion of the current season on a free transfer.
