Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has said that he hopes Kylian Mbappe changes his mind at the last minute.
The French superstar, who is bound to join Real Madrid, will be out of contract with PSG at the end of the season. Now, the Ligue 1 team has done everything in their power to keep hold of the player, but the forward seems determined to mark an exit.
Speaking about his future, Enrique affirmed that the forward has not said anything to the team. He added that there is a possibility he may change his mind if PSG win all the remaining titles this year.
“Last Classique tonight for Mbappe? Who said that? I keep hope about Mbappe staying at PSG,” said Enrique to Prime Video FR (h/t Fabrizio Romano).
“Mbappe has not said anything to us yet. He may change his mind. Let us imagine that we won all the titles this season and that Kylian decided at the last minute that he would continue in Paris,” he added.
Will Mbappe change his mind?
Until last year, it could have been a possibility but at this moment, it is highly unlikely.
It is suggested that Mbappe is now certain to move to Real Madrid after having informed PSG that he does not wish to renew his team. As far as Real Madrid are concerned, the Los Blancos are already preparing for his presentation.
At present, the parties involved- Madrid and Mbappe – have settled on the image rights issue and it is also suggested that the salary has also been discussed. This means all that remains is nothing but an official announcement.
As reported before, while everything is verbally agreed upon, Real Madrid are silently working on the player presentation, which could be delayd until August due to calendar reasons.
As far as Enrique’s response is concerned, it might seem like a snag for now, but it is unlikely to hinder Madrid’s ambitions.
