The brother of Al Ittihad striker Karim Benzema has played down reports the Frenchman could return to Real Madrid this month.
Benzema departed from Madrid on a costless transfer at the conclusion of the previous season in order to relocate to Saudi Arabia. However, there are now speculations about his potential return to Europe, hardly six months later, due to alleged conflicts with Al Ittihad manager Marcelo Gallardo.
Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea have all been suggested as potential suitors to recruit Benzema in the Premier League. Additionally, a recent report from Sport said Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has requested the return of the 36-year-old to the club on a six-month loan agreement.
The translation of the story by RMC Sport explicitly said that Madrid manager Florentino Perez had obstructed the transfer, a fact not included in the original text. It was this translated version that drew the attention of Benzema’s brother.
“LIAR,” Benzema’s sibling said on Instagram in retaliation to the narrative, accompanied by three laughing emojis.
Contrary to many rumors indicating Benzema’s intention to quit Al Ittihad, the experienced striker has lately refuted these accusations and denied any desire to go from Saudi Arabia this month.
However, teams around Europe are still monitoring his status, but it is uncertain if Madrid would take action to bring the renowned striker back to Spain.
Jude Bellingham has assumed the role of scoring goals in Madrid, having scored 18 goals in 26 games as a midfielder, while Rodrygo, who is playing as a temporary striker, has scored 12 goals in 30 matches. Joselu, who is now on loan, is the only striker in the team and has scored 10 goals this year.
Lyon, the club Benzema used to play for, is also said to be interested in signing the striker. However, his exorbitant salary in the Middle East would be a challenge even for the wealthiest Premier League teams.
