It was one of Real Madrid’s most critical matches of the season, as they met fellow championship contenders Girona at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. They defeated Michel’s team 4-0 thanks to Vinicius Jr.’s outstanding performance.
The Brazilian, who had missed the derby against Atletico Madrid due to injury, was in good form as he started the scoring with a spectacular goal before setting up Jude Bellingham with a fantastic pass, and the Englishman finished well to make it 2-0.
In the second half, the duo again collaborated for Bellingham to score his second goal of the night, making it 3-0, before Rodrygo scored the fourth, with Vinicius once again involved.
The victory meant that Real Madrid currently leads Girona by five points in the standings.
Vinicius calls it “one of the best games of the season.”
Vinicius acknowledged his delight at the win, noting it was one of their finest games of the season.
