Arda Guler’s time at Real Madrid has been marked by frustration due to a series of ailments he has suffered since joining the club in the summer.
Since the beginning of the year, the 18-year-old Turkish prodigy has fully recovered from his injury. However, he has not been given many chances to play by Carlo Ancelotti, which is acceptable considering he was inactive for six months.
Speculations arose about a potential loan transfer in January for Guler, with the aim of enabling him to play consistently and further his development. However, after a meeting with club president Florentino Perez, the player rejected that option and chose to remain in Madrid.
Guler garners attention
Nevertheless, Guler’s prospects may once again become a subject of discussion throughout the summer, depending upon his frequency of appearances under Ancelotti.
According to SPORT, the 18-year-old prodigy from Real Madrid is gaining attention from prominent Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the current leaders of the Bundesliga, Bayer Leverkusen.
AC Milan, a prominent team in Serie A, is reportedly interested in the ex-Fenerbahce prodigy.
The aforementioned teams are keen to exploit Guler’s limited playing time by acquiring him in the summer, either via a loan or even a permanent move, although the likelihood of this happening seems quite improbable.
Real Madrid may contemplate a temporary transfer
According to the report, Real Madrid may consider the possibility of loaning out Guler, but only if the player consents to the transfer.
Under such circumstances, the proposal would involve assigning the 18-year-old to a club where he would get a definite amount of playing time, in order to prevent a recurrence of a scenario like to Reinier Jesus’ experience at Borussia Dortmund.
AC Milan may have an edge in this regard, since it is said that Real Madrid has shown interest in the Rossoneri as a potential alternative after Brahim Diaz’s successful time at the club.
However, the final choice will ultimately be made by the player, who is presently prioritizing the goal of obtaining more playing time under Ancelotti in the next months in order to demonstrate his worthiness of consistent game opportunities in the following season.
