The Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid transfer seems to be gaining momentum as each day passes, especially considering that the 25-year-old is nearing the end of his contract with PSG.
Recent rumors indicate that Real Madrid is quite optimistic about securing their primary objective this summer and has a well-defined plan in place to finalize the agreement in the next days.
Nevertheless, there are still unresolved disagreements between the two teams, and journalist Andres Onrubia’s last report on Cadena SER indicates that the financial component of the operation has yet to be fully settled.
Mbappe’s monetary requirements
Despite Mbappe’s status as a free agent, acquiring him will not be financially straightforward for Real Madrid, since the Frenchman is demanding substantial earnings and a significant signing bonus.
According to the report from Cadena SER, Mbappe wants to be among the most highly compensated athletes in Europe, which is why he is requesting a total gross compensation of €50 million every season.
In addition, the Frenchman is requesting a substantial signing bonus up to €120 million.
The proposed salary and joining bonus offered by Real Madrid, amounting to €15 million and €60 million respectively, exceed the sums that the club is willing to provide.
In addition to his salary and signing bonus requirements, Mbappe also seeks supplementary payments, particularly in relation to image rights.
PSG is determined and has prepared a contract extension proposal for Mbappe, offering him a continuation of his current gross salaries of €72 million each season, combined with a signing bonus of €130 million.
Currently, a decision has not yet been reached, but according to Andres Onrubia, it is improbable that the situation will continue until May. A resolution may be achieved much earlier.
