Thibaut Courtois, goalkeeper for Real Madrid, stated that he hopes to return from injury by the conclusion of the season, adding that he is diligently preparing for it.
The Real Madrid goalkeeper sustained an ACL tear in early August, which has sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
As a consequence, the team from Madrid was compelled to seek alternatives on the market, and Kepa Arrizabalaga was subsequently acquired from Chelsea.
Attempting to return
Courtois underwent surgery in the third week of August, after which he began his rehabilitation program, and it was speculated that he would be eligible to return by the end of the season.
In a conversation with El Chiringuito TV about his injury and probable return on Sunday, he stated, “I’m working hard to return, so that I can enjoy and play until the end of the season.”
Courtois is determined to recuperate from his ACL injury and return to action with the first team. He is diligently working toward his return to action.
Courtois is not the only protracted absence
Interestingly, he is not alone on this voyage, as defender Eder Militao is also undergoing rehabilitation.
As the season’s decisive phase approaches, their combined efforts demonstrate not only Courtois’ determination, but also Militao’s desire to rejoin the team.
For now, while Madrid do have Courtois’ position secured, until the end of the season, but MIlitao’s absence could be felt as the fixtures approach thick and fast.
However, there have been rumors that Militao’s injury and rehabilitation are not as serious as Courtois’, and that he could return a bit sooner than the goalkeeper.
Carlo Ancelotti will rely heavily on the health of Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba until then.
