Bruno Guimaraes, a Newcastle United midfielder, has been on Real Madrid’s radar for some time.
Even after Los Blancos spent over €100 million on Jude Bellingham this summer, it seems that they still have a strong interest in Guimaraes.
Both Luka Modric and Toni Kroos’ contracts will expire at the conclusion of the season, and they are unlikely to stay at the club beyond that.
As a result, a fresh midfield reinforcement at the Santiago Bernabeu may be required, with the Newcastle United staple being highlighted as a possible target.
Guimaraes will set you back a fortune.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, will find it difficult to recruit Guimaraes from Newcastle.
The Brazilian international is an important component of Eddie Howe’s ambitions at St James’ Park and has showed no desire to leave.
And, according to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid will have to pay a fee of €120 million to lure Guimaraes away from Newcastle United.
The 25-year-old is under contract with Newcastle until the summer of 2026, with the Premier League club actively negotiating to extend his contract.
As a result, they will make it difficult for Los Blancos to recruit him, and it may require a large amount, such as the €120 million suggested in the article, for Carlo Ancelotti and co. to sign Guimaraes.
Guimaraes’ services are up for grabs.
However, Real Madrid are not the only club interested in Guimaraes, as Chelsea and Liverpool are also rumoured to be keeping tabs on the Newcastle United star.
Liverpool overhauled their midfield section this summer, but they are apparently aiming to add Guimaraes to their squad as well.
Chelsea, meanwhile, have spent huge money on a lot of midfielders in recent transfer windows, but there hasn’t been much of a clear path in terms of recruiting under Todd Boehly.
It would therefore be intriguing to observe if Real Madrid is serious about Guimaraes’ ambition for 2024.
