Real Madrid appear to be on track in their bid to complete the signing of Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer. The Frenchman would become the second signing for Los Blancos ahead of the new season, joining Endrick.
But apart from Endrick and Mbappe, Real Madrid have identified other potential targets in the market, particularly in the fullback area.
Alphonso Davies is one such player Real Madrid are keen on this summer, as they look to shore up their ranks in the left-back position.
Davies has emerged as a market opportunity for Los Blancos as his contract at Bayern Munich expires in 2025 and the player has appeared reluctant to sign a new deal. In fact, Davies has reportedly even informed Real Madrid of his desire to play for the club.
Real Madrid willing to wait until 2025 for Davies
Now, Fabrizio Romano has issued a fresh update on Davies’ transfer saga. The Italian journalist suggests Real Madrid are willing to wait until 2025 if Bayern demand too much money this summer.
This comes shortly on the back of reports, which suggest Bayern Munich could demand up to €70 million for the services of the Canadian international this summer.
Real Madrid, of course, are not in a position to pay such kind of money for Davies, especially after pulling expensive operations for Mbappe and Endrick.
As such, the Spanish giants would be willing to wait until 2025 to sign Davies on a free transfer.
One would think that might be too late, especially if other European giants make a move for Davies. However, Real Madrid are aware that the Canadian is desperate to play for the club.
Davies, therefore, could play a key role in holding back a move from Bayern this summer and see out his contract at Allianz Arena.
