Real Madrid have already made their headline signing of the summer, having acquired Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer.
But business is far from done at the Santiago Bernabeu as Real Madrid are still looking to reinforce the squad with a few more signings like Leny Yoro and Alphonso Davies.
Furthermore, there could be some exits as well which could dictate any potential business that the Merengues do once the transfer window is open next month.
Kepa Arrizabalaga could return
One of the possible departures in the summer could be goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. The 25-year-old has doubts about his continuity owing to the fact that he will once again have to play second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois next season.
Juventus have shown a strong interest in signing Lunin, while there are other top European sides looking at him as well.
If he opts to leave, Real Madrid will have to rope in a replacement and SPORT reports that the European champions could turn to a familiar face in Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The 29-year-old Spaniard spent the last season on loan at Real Madrid, after the club moved for him following Courtois’ ACL injury.
While he started the season ahead of Lunin, the Ukrainian became the undisputed choice after a few months and Kepa was relegated to the bench.
Kepa returns to Chelsea after making 20 appearances in Madrid in which he kept nine clean sheets. The Spaniard, though, has no future in London and is likely to be on the move again.
Given the familiarity aspect, Real Madrid could thus move for him if Lunin ends up leaving in the summer.
Kepa’s contract expires in 2025 and his market value stands at €12 million, but Real Madrid will definitely look to negotiate a lower fee if the scenario does arise.
