This has been an unusual season for Luka Modric. Despite being regarded as one of Europe’s best midfielders, the Croat has had to sit out a few of Real Madrid matches this season.
This is owing to the club’s renewed trust in young players like as Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Jude Bellingham, which has pushed Modric and Toni Kroos to the sidelines.
Many predict Modric may depart the Santiago Bernabeu before the conclusion of the season due to a lack of playing time.
Saudi tycoons are on the lookout for Modric.
Despite his age of 38, the Real Madrid superstar seems to have no lack of admirers.
According to Rudy Galetti, Al-Ahli are the latest team interested in signing Modric. The Saudi Arabian giants look to be interested in signing the midfielder during the next January transfer window.
Al Ittihad, who famously signed Karim Benzema earlier this summer, is another team interested in acquiring the veteran midfielder.
Both teams are set to launch a bid for Modric in January before obtaining approval from Real Madrid.
So far in Modric’s season
Modric, for one, has had a mixed season at the Bernabeu this season. He had a rough start to the season, with just a few regular-season minutes.
This has improved during the season, with all four of his league starts coming after September.
It was also believed that the midfielder’s playing time would increase after the triumph against Barcelona, especially because Aurelien Tchouameni was injured.
That is maybe why the Croatian was given a start in the latest game against Rayo Vallecano, despite the team losing by two points.
Nonetheless, it is difficult to say if Modric would be willing to leave Bernabeu in January. Much will depend on the kind of proposals he receives from the Saudi behemoths.
