Arda Guler was one of the most sought-after players in the previous summer transfer window, but after completing his desired move to Real Madrid, he has not yet had the opportunity to savor wearing the iconic Royal White jersey for the first time.
Indeed, injuries continue to elude him from making his long-awaited debut in the Spanish Capital.
However, the club and the player know that slow and steady wins the race. Instead of rushing his return, careful consideration is being taken in the recovery process.
Real Madrid aim for Guler’s full recovery
As per Mundo Deportivo (h/t RM4Arab) Real Madrid are keen for Arda Guler to fully recover and be fit to play when Carlo Ancelotti asks him to do so.
Guler has been injured since the pre-season US tour, having picked up two additional injuries that ruled him out of action for the first half of the season.
He most recently suffered from a tear in his hamstring, which initially sidelined him for around one month. Expectations were that he would be able to play the final games of the year against Villarreal and Alaves, but that did not turn out to be the case.
And while his return edges closer, the Merengues are treading lightly with the Turkish sensation, as the player will only be called up when Carlo Ancelotti sees fit.
Furthermore, the report argues that Guler’s recent string of ailments has caused a major deterioration in his physical fitness, which requires extra caution and more time allotted to his recovery period.
However, Real Madrid will soon have Vinicius Jr. and Eduardo Camavinga at their disposal next month as they are working hard to make it in time before the Spanish Super Cup commences.
