Rodrygo was one of Real Madrid’s players that struggled to find his feet this season. He began the season cautiously and was unable to maintain consistency in front of the goal.
Rodrygo has only scored two goals at the start of the month, sometimes failing to sustain any form of output in the final third.
Many questioned his spot in the starting eleven due to his poor form, particularly with numerous other La Fabrica stars waiting in the wings.
Rodrygo’s impressive comeback
Despite all of the media speculation about his dismal form, Rodrygo has managed to turn his season around in only 10 days.
The Brazilian’s joyful season began last Thursday, when he extended his contract with Real Madrid. He signed a new contract that would keep him at the Bernabeu until 2028.
The contract extension was followed by an outstanding performance against Braga in the UEFA Champions League. The striker contributed a goal and an assist to Real Madrid’s 3-0 triumph this week.
Rodrygo’s effort versus Valencia last night was the icing on the cake. He had two goals and two assists in Real Madrid’s 5-1 victory against Valencia.
The path ahead
Such a swift change of events should augur well for Rodrygo, who has had a few ups and downs since the start of the season.
Not to add, Rodrygo’s recent output will be useful for Real Madrid, who had just dealt with Jude Bellingham’s injury.
After signing on a high note for the international break, the Real Madrid attacker will now try to create an impact for Brazil as well.
Rodrygo is part of the Brazilian squad that will face Colombia and Argentina in 2026 World Cup qualifiers during the forthcoming international break.
