In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final first-leg match that took place yesterday night, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich played to a 2-2 tie. With this result, Real Madrid emerged victorious.
Although Jude Bellingham did not perform to his full potential, Vinicius Jr. was the star of the show for the Merengues on that particular night.
Toni Kroos was another player that excelled for Real Madrid on their trip to Germany when they were there. As he made his way back to the place which he had previously called home, the veteran midfielder put on a fantastic performance, even providing Vinicius with a magnificent assist that led to the opening goal of the evening.
Despite the fact that he is growing older, Kroos has once again shown that he is still considered to be of the highest caliber and has the potential to make a significant contribution to Real Madrid.
There has been some question over his future that has arisen due to the fact that his contract will expire at the conclusion of the current season; nonetheless, those who are affiliated with Real Madrid take his continuation for granted.
After the game that took place the night before, Kroos said that he is not currently considering his future and declined to provide any information on his future. He stated that he is not thinking about it at this time.
I am in a happy state of mind. I am not thinking about the future at this time; I am focused on winning as many games as I possibly can throughout this season,” he said.
He went on to say that the outcome of the match versus Bayern Munich, which ended in a 2-2 tie, was satisfactory for both of us. As is typical in the semi-finals of the Champions League, we had both successes and failures during the course of the match.
When we are in control of the game, they score, but it seems usual for them to score in the opening fifteen minutes of the game. We have played to the best of our abilities here, and now we are moving on to the next leg.
In light of the fact that the second leg of the match is scheduled to take place at the Santiago Bernabeu the following week, Kroos is hoping that this will provide Real Madrid with an edge.
“We are hoping that playing at the Bernabéu would be a benefit for us. In a normal situation, it is, but we have to do it once more.
Kroos chose to offer credit to Vinicius for his brilliant movement and assist on Vinicius’s first goal of the evening. He said the following about the Portuguese player:
Vini deserves a great deal of credit for this. I saw that their center back was following Vini, and since I was familiar with him, I was aware that he was going to move into space. The decision that he has taken has been a significant one.
“Having players like Vinicius on your team gives you the opportunity to accomplish these things,” the coach said. He is both perceptive and swift.
According to Kroos, who was asked about the rumors surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s potential transfer to Real Madrid, he said, “It’s the future.” Kroos also refused to acknowledge the rumors. Since he is not going to be accompanying us on the return trip, I do not have any concerns about it.
In response to the question of whether or not he believed Vinicius was the finest player in the world at the moment, Kroos stated:
It’s tough, I don’t know what to say. Once every week or once every two weeks, it may be different. Vinicius is without a doubt one of them, and we have further ones. A week ago, individuals were claiming that it was Jude Bellingham, but now others are stating that it is Vini.
