The summer transfer window of 2024 looks to be a busy one for Real Madrid, with many transfers expected to take place at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid want to recruit Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer once his contract at PSG ends.
Moves are also anticipated for Alphonso Davies and Leny Yoro, while some present players may be sold.
Ferland Mendy is expected to be sold.
According to The Athletic (via Mundo Deportivo), Real Madrid plans to sell left-back Ferland Mendy during the summer transfer season.
Mendy joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, moving from Olympique Lyon for a fee of about €50 million.
The 28-year-old’s stint at the Santiago Bernabeu has been marred by injuries, particularly in the past few seasons, with the left-back spending more time on the bench than on the field.
Even if Carlo Ancelotti has a high level of faith in him, the administration does not and is contemplating dumping him this summer.
Mendy’s contract ends next year, and with no extension, moving him this summer makes financial sense for the Merengues.
Furthermore, with a deal for Alphonso Davies in the works, there will be no room for Mendy, since Fran Garcia is already in the team.
Real Madrid is considering re-signing Miguel Gutierrez from Girona, with a buyback clause of €8 million.
As a result, there seems to be no room for Mendy, whose market worth is €20 million, in the team next season, and all indications lead to his departure.
