Ahead of his impending transfer to Como 1907, Real Madrid youngster Nico Paz has said goodbye to the club and the fans via a social media post.
Nico, 19, is a product of Real Madrid’s La Fabrica academy and is regarded as one of the brightest prospects to have come through the ranks in recent years.
However, given the lack of a direct pathway into the team, Nico has opted to continue his career elsewhere, with newly-promoted Serie A side Como snapping up his services for a fee of around €6 million.
While an official confirmation from the club is still awaited, the Argentine prodigy has taken to social media to say farewell to his boyhood club and fans with an emotional message.
“Hello Madridistas, The time has come to say goodbye to this great club after eight years defending this shirt,” he started.
Nico then proceeded to thank Real Madrid and everyone involved in his journey at the club, as he wrote:
“First I want to thank Real Madrid for having trusted me all this time, and for having made my dream of debuting and playing minutes with the first team come true, where I was able to score my first goal in the Champions League that I will remember for the rest of my life.
“I would also like to thank all my teammates, coaches, physical trainers, physiotherapists, doctors, kitmen and all the club’s workers, with whom I have shared beautiful moments during all these years, and who have helped me to become the person I am today.”
Concluding, Nico thanked the Madridistas for their love and affection and stated that he hoped that they could reunite again in the future.
“And finally, I would like to thank all the Madridistas for all the affection I have received during this time. A fan base that has also allowed this to be possible. I hope one day we can be together again”, See you soon Madridistas!”
Nico made his debut for Real Madrid last season and even scored in the Champions League game against Napoli.
Given his immense potential, Los Blancos have retained a buyback option for the youngster as well as a future sell-on clause.
