Real Madrid have set their heart on a move for two major transfer targets in the summer, starting with none other than Kylian Mbappe.
The Frenchman has been linked with Madrid for pretty much his entire career, but it seems the move will finally go through this summer. He has already told PSG officials about his desire to leave the club on a free come June.
Other than the World Cup winner, Madrid are hoping to secure a deal for Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.
The Canadian is out of a contract in 2025, and wants to renew his deal on his own terms, and has demanded a salary worth €20 million per year, which the Bavarians are not ready to shell out.
As such, Madrid are in the pole position to secure his signature, but do not want to pay a sum in the €50-70 million range because Davies will have just one year left on his Bayern deal come the summer.
In light of this transfer talk, Davies’ agent Nedal Huoseh has spoken to Fabrizio Romano about his future, saying, “There is nothing agreed or concrete with any club. Alphonso’s focus at this time is Bayern.”
“We will consider all out options for the future in the next months,” he added.
Madrid have already reached an agreement on personal terms with Davies over a summer move, presumably the club ready to pay his salary demands of €20 million, which are in line with what Jude Bellingham, Vinicius, Luka Modric, and Toni Kroos earn.
They have, however, set a €40 million spending limit for Davies, and will not allow Bayern to dictate negotiation proceedings for the player as they have the upper hand.
The Bundesliga defending champions will obviously not want the player to leave for free, and could eventually fold for whatever Madrid offer.
