If Barcelona want to acquire players for positions other than their current ones, they will be need to sell players during the forthcoming summer transfer window which will take place.
As a result of the departure of numerous important players after Real Madrid won the Champions League three times in a row from 2016 to 2018, the club has just provided teams all over the globe with a model for rebuilding their squads.
Particularly remarkable is the transformation that has taken place in the middle of the field, which was initiated by Casemiro’s move to Manchester United two years ago.
They had previously made preparations for it by acquiring Eduardo Camavinga from Stade Rennais in 2021 for a fee of thirty million euros. Subsequently, they acquired Aurelien Tchouameni to take the position of Casemiro, paying a total of one hundred million euros for his acquisition, which included any add-ons.
Luka Modric has been relegated to the bench as a rotational player due to the fact that Camavinga and Tchouameni have finally begun to establish themselves as members of the club, Toni Kroos is in outstanding form, and Federico Valverde has also been firmly established in his place in the starting lineup.
Could Modric be on his way out?
The Croatian player had high hopes of continuing his career at Madrid, but it seems that the club has no plans to provide him a new contract going forward.
Real Madrid is of the opinion that, after a total of twelve years of service, Modric’s time with the club will ultimately come to an end after this season is over, as stated by a story that was sourced from MadridXtra and authored by Jorge C. Picon. They want to offer him a goodbye that is commensurate with the magnitude of a player of his caliber.
According to the source, Madrid is said to be contemplating the possibility of announcing Modric’s departure before to the official conclusion of the season. This would allow the player to have a fitting send-off from the supporters who are gathered at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
It is easy to see why he is dissatisfied with the little amount of playing time he receives, but he would rather do so in a low-key manner. Due to the fact that he believes it would disrupt the positive spirit of the squad, he has refrained from discussing it in public and is likely to continue doing so.
The Croatian has the second-fewest minutes of any midfielder on the club, with Dani Ceballos being the only player surpassing him in terms of minutes played. Carlo Ancelotti has used Ceballos very little thus far.
He even made the decision to remain with the club after being encouraged by the coaching staff and management, despite the fact that he had rejected enormous offers from Saudi Arabia and attention from other major European teams.
Modric is willing to keep playing football in the future.
According to Jose Felix Diaz, Modric has claimed that he does not want to retire from football just yet and that he intends to continue playing the sport. This report contradicts this statement. Already, he has chosen not to entertain the possibility of playing in Saudi Arabia.
The dependable reporter is of the opinion that Modric is actively working toward the goal of being the oldest player in Real Madrid’s history. In order to accomplish this goal, he would need to continue playing for another year, even if the concept seems to be improbable at the moment.
