Injury problems just refuse to leave Real Madrid alone. That has been the case for several years now and Carlo Ancelotti deserves immense credit for the remarkable job that he has done, despite having to deal with so many issues. It was not all positive for Real Madrid on the day though. Brahim Diaz, who had started the game, had to be subbed off in the 24th minute for Rodrygo after picking up an injury.
Unfortunately, it looks like he will be out for a while. As tweeted by Guillermo Rai, according to the club, Brahim Diaz will be out for almost 3 months with a right adductor injury.
Real Madrid player ruled out for almost 3 months with injury
Of course, that is a blow for Real Madrid. Brahim might not be one of the regular starters for the club, but he has certainly impressed whenever given a chance.
Brahim has proven himself to be someone who can make a difference, whether it is as a starter or off the bench. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 12 goals and provided 9 assists in 44 appearances and 2066 minutes of football last season.
That is some excellent output from the Moroccan international. Ancelotti will miss having him as an option, especially during a time when Real Madrid are still adjusting to playing with Mbappe as their forward and do not look like the most fluid side going forward.
