- Real Madrid remain hopeful of signing Alphonso Davies this summer
- Canadian left-back’s contract expires this summer
- Los Blancos have already confirmed free transfer of Kylian Mbappe
Real Madrid have made ‘new contact’ with Alphonso Davies this week as they try to sign the Canadian left-back this summer, it has been claimed.
It has been speculated for a long time that Los Blancos would be the next team to sign the flying defender once his current contract at the Allianz Arena comes to an end at the conclusion of the next season.
Davies has been presented with an offer from Bayern, but he has not yet made a choice despite the fact that Madrid is interested in him.Fabrizio Romano asserts that the squad that won both the Champions League and La Liga is not interested in paying Bayern the €50 million transfer price that they are seeking for the 23-year-old player.
Prior to this, it was claimed that Madrid was not interested in paying more than €35 million, which is a decrease from their previous highest offer of €40 million.
In the event that Davies makes the decision that his future is elsewhere, Madrid will be in a great position to negotiate with him. There is also the possibility that Madrid may wait a year before announcing his arrival as a free transfer.
Sky Germany, on the other hand, has said that getting Davies to sign a new contract is a top priority for the incoming manager Vincent Kompany, and they have also stated that the likelihood of reaching an agreement is higher than it has been in the last several weeks.
Munich is eager to get the extension done and avoid having to make a costly new signing at left-back, with Milan’s Theo Hernandez being their chosen replacement. There is a suspicion that Davies and his entourage might be using Bayern to compel greater contract conditions out of Madrid. However, Bayern is eager to get the extension done.
The Bayern and Germany star was questioned about his club teammate’s future, and he revealed that he would like for him to stay at Bayern rather than transfer to the Bernabeu.
According to Musiala, “Yes! I count him as a close friend of mine. Maintaining relationships with your pals is always beneficial. On the other hand, I haven’t had a conversation with him in a few days, and we never discuss our contracts.
The left-back position was the one in which Ferland Mendy played the most for Madrid during the 2023–24 season. He made 23 appearances in La Liga and participated in 11 Champions League games, including starting the championship match against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
