In the early hours of morning, Real Madrid’s training facilities were visited by an unexpected guest. Marcelo, a former captain of the club and a legend of the organization, made the decision to meet up with his former colleagues and manager Carlo Ancelotti.
The Brazilian left-back played for the club in the Spanish capital for sixteen years, during which time he won as many as twenty-five titles. In 2022, he moved to Olympiacos, and he ultimately settled down at Fluminense, where he won the Copa Libertadores the previous year.
Prior to Real Madrid’s journey to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup, Marcelo met with the team and manager Carlo Ancelotti. After that, he engaged in a conversation with the club’s media, during which he discussed a variety of topics, including Jude Bellingham.
Regarding the Super Cup
I am quite pleased with how this meeting has gone for me. In the beginning, Marcelo began by saying, “It has been a very long time since the last time I was here, almost a year, and I have missed my home.”
In addition, the club legend said, “The team is looking very good.” This was in reference to the forthcoming Spanish Super Cup. Madrid is consistently creating work of a high quality. I hope they have success in the Spanish Super Cup, which they are now competing in. Hopefully, they come out on top.”
The fact that I was able to win five Spanish Super Cups is largely due to Real Madrid. Playing for Real Madrid is always an amazing experience. After speaking with the players, I can say that they seem to be in excellent physical condition and are really eager to compete in this event,” the Brazilian said.
In the first round of the Super Cup, Real Madrid will compete against Atletico Madrid, a rival club from the same region. Marcelo expressed his optimism that the team would be able to defeat Diego Simeone’s squad, stating, “I hope Madrid wins and I hope it’ll be a nice game for the fans.”
On Bellingham, Ancelotti, and others
The beginning of Jude Bellingham’s career as a player for Real Madrid has been nothing short of mesmerizing, and Marcelo gave some insight into the spectacular climb that the Englishman has experienced up to this point, saying:
“My son Liam looked up to him as a hero, and he expressed his desire to have his photo taken with him. He has a really healthy appearance. He has gotten off to a fantastic start. It is common knowledge that there is always space for development at Real Madrid; yet, he has gotten off to a fantastic start, and he is quite possibly invincible.
In addition, the legendary Brazilian player made a few remarks regarding his fellow Brazilians Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo Goes, and Eder Militao, saying:
“Every single one of them is doing really well and is quite happy. With each passing season, they continue to improve. I make it a point to communicate with Militão, Rodrygo, and Vini Jr. whenever I get the opportunity, and I do my best to assist them in any way that I can.
After that, Marcelo went on to disclose that he had a conversation with Ancelotti before to Fluminense’s victory in the Copa Libertadores the previous year.
