Caution. That is the word and the mantra that Real Madrid hope to follow with Arda Guler as they help the youngster get back onto his feet after an injury plagues start to the season.
Having arrived after Real Madrid’s direct tussle with Barcelona for his signature, the Turkish phenom was under a mountain of pressure even before he donned the white jersey for the first time. His chronic run of injuries, needless to say, has not helped.
Debut on the horizon
According to reports from Rodra via The Madrid Zone, Real Madrid are calm about the young phenom’s situation. They do not see any reason to hurry his recovery and are willing to wait until he is fit and raring.
If nothing goes wrong and his recovery meets the deadlines, Guler will debut in January after the Christmas break. A debut against Villarreal as relayed earlier this week is no longer a possibility.
Fans can thus hope to see the little magician in action during Real Madrid’s clash against Mallorca or the Copa del Rey fixture against Arandina. Nevertheless, his integration will be gradual.
Ancelotti’s reassuring words
While media reports have featured news about the Turkish star’s near-recovery for a long time now, direct confirmation from the club always stands superior.
Last week, Carlo Ancelotti himself provided an update on Guler and his potential return when he spoke ahead of Real Madrid’s clash against Real Betis.
“He’s almost back. He will train harder next week. I don’t know if he will be ready for the last game of the year or in 2024.”
Yet, this is not the first time the player has been on the doorstep of a return. One must hope that he faces no further hiccup here on in.
