Real Madrid have reportedly struck an agreement with Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies on a prospective move in the summer, according to a substantial update that was reported by journalist Alfredo Matilla (h/t RM4Arab).
Following this, the only thing that needs to be done in order for the transaction to be finalized is for the Merengues to reach a consensus with Bayern over the transfer cost for the 23-year-old player.
Real Madrid has Davies as one of their primary targets.
At this point, it has been well-established that Davies is one of the top objectives for Real Madrid moving into the summer transfer season. Other players on Real Madrid’s list of top targets include Kylian Mbappe and Leny Yoro.
The Canadian left-back, who is 23 years old, is held in high respect inside the club and is considered to be a significant improvement over the choices that are now available in the team, which are Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia.
Reportedly, Real Madrid defender David Alaba has been in communication with Davies in an effort to persuade him to consider a potential transfer. This information has been published in the past.
Los Blancos are keen to strike, and despite Bayern Munich’s attempts to try and persuade Davies to prolong his contract, it looks like the left-back will be heading to the Spanish capital in the summer. Davies’s current deal is set to expire in 2025.
No agreement has been reached with Bayern Munich as of yet.
Although there is a possibility that Real Madrid has reached a deal with Davies, the club must still meet down with Bayern Munich and discuss the conditions of a move on their own.
Therefore, despite the fact that there is a certain amount of excitement about the acquisition of the 23-year-old, there are also some reservations, since the Merengues are aware that the Bundesliga champions would not make it easy for them to get the player.
It is entirely dependent on the manner in which discussions with Bayern Munich are carried out, but it is quite probable that the left-back will be moving to Real Madrid over the summer.
It remains to be seen how this will affect the futures of the two left-backs who are now with the team, namely Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia.
