Alphonso Davies has emerged as one of the hottest topics in the transfer market lately, with the young fullback facing an uncertain future at Bayern Munich.
Davies’ current deal in Bavaria expires in the summer of 2025. The player has appeared reluctant to sign a new deal at the club, leading many to believe that he may leave at the end of the season.
The Canadian international’s precarious situation at Bayern has put Real Madrid on red alert, especially as Los Blancos look to shore up their options in the fullback unit.
Davies’ lucrative renewal demand
It is no secret that Bayern are desperate to try and convince Davies to renew his contract and prolong his stay in Bavaria.
Davies, though, has repelled the idea so far. Now, a report from Florian Plettenberg (h/t iMiaSanMia) suggests that the Canadian could be willing to renew his deal at Bayern, but only if the German giants agree to his exorbitant contract demands.
Indeed, Davies is asking for a hefty €20 million per year salary, which would easily make him one of the highest-paid players in Germany.
Bayern, though, are not in a position to accept such terms. As such, the youngster could indeed end up leaving Bavaria in the coming summer.
No offer from Real Madrid
Plettenberg reports that Bayern Munich could be willing to offload Alphonso Davies this summer for a fee of around €50-60 million.
However, the German journalist adds that Bayern Munich have yet to receive any offer from Real Madrid.
This claim comes after reports earlier today suggested that Los Blancos were closing in on capturing Davies’ signing from Bayern Munich.
Having initially planned to offer €35 million for the Canadian, the Spanish capital club are willing to meet Bayern’s €50 million demands, albeit with some add-ons.
But, as of now, there does not appear to be a formal offer made if the sources from Germany are to be believed.
