People have a saying that goes, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” at the current state of affairs, it is exactly the mentality that prevails at the Real Madrid headquarters, even if they do get an overwhelming amount of lemons.
In the last several months, the club has been crippled by a slew of injuries that have occurred. Vinicius Jr., Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni are now on the list, which was previously restricted to just contain the names of Eder Militao, Thibaut Courtois, and Arda Guler. However, the list has gradually grown to include these players.
As of the beginning of this week, Dani Carvajal is the most recent person to be added to the list.
In the long run, a blow
It was during the encounter against Granada that the Real Madrid defender sustained an injury to the soleus muscle in his left calf. Despite the fact that the first prognosis did not seem to be too dire, the player may be sidelined for the remainder of the year, according to the results of the testing.
This is a significant setback for Ancelotti, since it means that he will be without his first-choice right-back for at least three weeks. A logical successor is Lucas Vazquez, who played 45 minutes against Granada and turned in a good performance. Vazquez is the natural option.
Vinicius Tobias, another excellent player for Real Madrid Castilla, is another player who stands to gain directly from the current condition of this predicament.
This is the second benefactor.
According to Mundo Deportivo, considering the current circumstances with the first team, it is possible that Tobias will be given the opportunity to make his debut with the professional Real Madrid club. When everything is said and done, this is not the first time that his name has been mentioned as a potential candidate for Carlo Ancelotti.
As a direct consequence of UEFA’s loosening of its rules on players in Ukraine during the war, Tobias signed with Los Blancos in April 2022, having previously played for Shakhtar Donetsk.
After the player’s first year with the team, the organization did not exercise their buy clause on him; however, they did choose to extend his loan in order to provide him with another opportunity.
Raul Gonzalez’s team has seen a significant increase in Tobias’s level of influence during this season. In addition to his outstanding performance in defense, he has also contributed three assists, and it should come as no surprise that he is considered an emergency possibility to replace the right-back position for the first team.
This is not the first time that Tobias has participated in training sessions with the senior team; in fact, Ancelotti has already called him up to the squad on two separate occasions. A debut could finally be on the horizon, even if there is no assurance that this will happen.
