It has been reported by Mario Cortegana of The Athletic that Toni Kroos, a legendary player in the middle of the field for Real Madrid, will decide in the coming weeks whether or not he will return to the Germany national team playing for Germany.
It was immediately after Die Mannschaft’s lackluster performance at the UEFA Euro 2020 that Kroos made the announcement that he will be retiring from international football in the year 2021.
In light of the fact that Germany is going to be the host nation for the European Championships this year and the fact that the team has not performed as well as was anticipated, there have been demands for Kroos to reverse his decision to retire and come back into the fold.
At the beginning of this month, the legendary midfielder said that he was, in fact, considering going back to play for Germany. He stated:
“In order to proceed, I need to make choices and give a lot of thought to what I’m going to accomplish. Whether or not I will participate in the European Championship is in question.Currently, I am unsure about whether or not I will return to Germany, although I am considering doing so.
Due to the fact that the international break is scheduled to take place in March, which is less than a month away, it is now anticipated that Kroos will make a choice prior to that time and announce it, at the very least within the team.
In the event that Kroos makes the decision to represent Germany at the European Championships, there is a possibility that manager Julian Nagelsmann would send him to the national team for the forthcoming international break that begins on March 14. In such case, the legendary player from Real Madrid will not be taken into consideration for selection going ahead.
First, on March 23, Germany will compete against France in an international friendly away from their home stadium. Then, on March 26, Germany will play the Netherlands at their home stadium in Frankfurt.
