Real Madrid made an official statement over the weekend clarifying rumors of Kylian Mbappe joining the club next summer.
Los Blancos made it plain in the statement that they have had no discussions with the PSG superstar regarding a free move in 2024.
“Given the information recently issued and published by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid CF would like to state that this information is completely false and that no such negotiations have taken place with a player who belongs to PSG,” a statement from the club read.
The president of PSG answers
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has now replied to inquiries about Real Madrid’s statement on Mbappe, stating that he has not seen it and is just concerned with his team.
“I haven’t seen their statement, but we’re all focused on ourselves and our football, not on others,” Al-Khelaifi told Gazzetta dello Sport (via Hadrien Grenier).
Speaking further about Mbappe and his future, considering that the forward’s contract expires at the conclusion of the season, PSG president said:
“Kylian continues to achieve great things, and while some may take him for granted, no one has ever played in two World Cup finals and scored a hat-trick.”
“I’ll say it again: Kylian is the best in the world, and it’s wonderful to see him leading PSG and France.” He’s having a great impact on our youth and assisting us in building our future.”
Mbappe is wanted by Real Madrid.
Despite issuing a statement distancing themselves from Mbappe, Real Madrid wants to capture Mbappe next summer and is willing to go all out for him.
PSG, on the other hand, is still attempting to persuade him to sign a new deal, while Liverpool is also interested in signing the French international.
Al-Khelaifi, on the other hand, is optimistic that Mbappe will continue to lead the squad in the future.
