Following a brilliant 4-0 win against Girona at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid will turn their attention towards the Champions League, where RB Leipzig await them in the Round of 16 of this season’s competition.
The first leg of the tie is set to go ahead on Tuesday at the Red Bull Arena in Germany, with the reverse fixture at the Bernabeu on 6th March.
Carlo Ancelotti is without several of his key players for this game, as revealed by the official squad list, including Jude Bellingham. The Englishman scored two yesternight before being subbed off due to an ankle sprain.
He is expected to miss two-three weeks of football, but should be able to make it back in time for the second leg.
Antonio Rudiger is also still sidelined, and will not travel with the squad. While his injury was initially deemed not as serious, Real Madrid have decided to not call him on to prevent long-term damage.
Nacho is back, though, after missing the game this weekend. Daniel Carvajal and Aurelien Tchouameni partnered in central defence without the Spaniard, but the former should be able to return to right-back for the Leipzig game.
Ancelotti has called on Jacobo Ramon and Alvaro Carrillo to cover in defence, while Mario Martin and Nico Paz get the call up in midfield.
