In a major development, Real Madrid have taken it upon themselves to dismiss reports of negotiations between themselves and PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe, ahead of a potential free transfer move in 2024.
Real Madrid and Mbappe have been eternally linked with each other in the transfer market and with the Frenchman’s contract expiring at the end of the season, speculations are rife that he will be arriving at the Santiago Bernabeu for free next summer.
It has even been reported that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner would take up the #10 shirt at Real Madrid and that he would be earning wages worth around €35 million (net) at the Spanish capital club.
However, Los Blancos have acted to deny all these rumours and speculations, claiming that there is no talk between them and Mbappe whatsoever.
“Given the information recently issued and published by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappé and our club, Real Madrid CF would like to state that this information is completely false and that no such negotiations have taken place. with a player who belongs to PSG,” the official statement read.
Whether this move by Real Madrid has an impact on their chances of signing Mbappe for free next summer or not remains to be seen.
For now, though, the Merengues have decided to put some distance between themselves and the talks about Mbappe’s move to the club.
