After incessant speculation regarding Carlo Ancelotti’s future, his destination is finally set in stone as an extension with Real Madrid has been announced officially by the club.
With his contract set to expire at the conclusion of the season, the Italian’s future had been a hot topic of conversation for a while now.
The Brazilian national team were particularly eager to land Ancelotti’s services ahead of the 2024 Copa America, with advances frequently made.
However, Ancelotti had consistently insisted that he would choose to stay at Real Madrid if given the option, and the club’s management had been taking steps in recent weeks to ensure his continued presence.
Now, the club have confirmed that Ancelotti’s contract has been renewed until the summer of 2026, with Los Blancos retaining his services for the next two years.
The four-time Champions League winner has done a spectacular job with the Merengues this season, keeping them afloat amid an injury crisis and managing to conclude the first half of the season with the team maintaining first place in La Liga.
In the Champions League, Madrid have been equally impressive, qualifying for the Round of 16 with an unbeaten record in the group stages.
Since returning to take over the helm at Real Madrid, the 64-year-old tactician has lifted several titles and most notably won the Champions League back in 2022.
As a result of his achievements thus far, especially this season with severe limitations present in terms of personnel, Real Madrid are convinced that Ancelotti is the right man to lead this project forward.
