Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti dodged a question related to Kylian Mbappe’s potential move to the team, relaying that the club is more important than anyone and he is proud to be their manager.
Earlier, we reported that Mbappe has already signed for Real Madrid and all that remains now is the official announcement.
As of today, the French international is on international duty and if reports are to be believed, the announcement will only be made towards the end of the season.
As for Ancelotti, who signed a new contract with the team until 2026, was recently asked about his feelings at the club, especially since Mbappe is set to arrive, to which the Italian answered,
“Remember that the most important thing is Real Madrid. It’s a huge club. I’m proud of being their coach,” said Ancelotti as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.
What’s the latest with Mbappe?
It is to be noted that while Mbappe is certain to be a Real Madrid player, the announcement is pending from all parties.
As reported before, the announcement will likely come either after PSG is knocked out of the Champions League or if Real Madrid falls to Manchester City in the quarterfinals or semifinals.
Until the possibility of a PSG-Real Madrid matchup exists, no announcement will be made. Mbappe intends to avoid unnecessary drama and attention by waiting for the appropriate moment to reveal any news.
As far as Mbappe is concerned, even the player is refraining from talking about the matter. In a recent interview while on international duty, he said,
“I have nothing to announce. The day I have something to say, I will say it, but until then there is nothing to say.
“I have never hidden. The day I have to announce something I will do it, I have never been afraid, I will come and say it. It won’t be anything serious, it’s just that I don’t have anything important to announce now, I’m sorry to disappoint you,” he added.
