Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has disclosed to the media that both he and Dani Carvajal are attempting to persuade the club to extend the contract of the other.
A great deal of discussion and debate continues to take place in the Spanish capital over Ancelotti’s future. Despite the fact that Brazilian reports continue to assert that he will join the Selecao in the summer of 2019, the Italian manager has said that he would wait until the very last moment for Real Madrid to make him an offer. In the following month, Brazil is expected to make an offer to him for a new contract that would last for two years.
Dani Carvajal made it quite apparent that he would retain Carletto at the club if it were up to him when he was asked about the situation with Ancelotti.
“When I first began working with him, I was without a doubt a stranger to him, and I had to get settled in a little bit with him. Among all of the people I have spent the most time with, Zizou is the one. Although he is always training for the games, he [Ancelotti] never stops reinventing himself. In my opinion, he would remain in this location for as many years as he and the club choose; I would renew his membership tomorrow. At Real Madrid, Carlo is one of the few managers who is capable of doing it better than anybody else.
In response to a question regarding his future, the former coach of Milan said, “I will not talk about my future.” He would not comment on the topic. After being confronted with a second question about whether or not he believed Real Madrid may give him one, Ancelotti repeatedly provided the journalist in question with the opportunity to ask a new question, and he was exceptionally strict about it.
On the other hand, once Carvajal’s remarks were presented to him, he became more cheerful.
As he chuckles, “He is correct.” I have requested that Carvajal’s contract be extended until the year 2030. We have reached an agreement to influence the club in favor of one another (laughs). I am grateful to him since it is a joke. The way he takes things seriously is a model.
Ancelotti made it quite plain at the beginning of the season that he would not be discussing his personal circumstances, despite the fact that conjecture had already begun to sneak into the earlier parts of the previous season. As things are, however, there is a great deal of ambiguity around the situation, and it will continue to raise its head anytime the results are not favorable. Even if the results are favorable, there will be many who wonder why Real Madrid is postponing an offer of a contract.
