The recent loss that Real Madrid suffered to Atletico Madrid by a score of 3-1 brought to light several key deficiencies within the squad.
The club, particularly in the attacking unit, lacked the creative presence of Karim Benzema in the final third as well as the explosive presence of Vinicius Jr. out wide.
Therefore, Real Madrid needs to make a significant upgrade to their offensive unit as soon as possible next summer, and all signs point to Kylian Mbappe being the player they choose to bring in.
Javier Tebas is optimistic about the arrival of Mbappe.
Since quite some time ago, Mbappe’s name has been mentioned in connection with a possible transfer to Real Madrid. Over the course of the past two years, he came extremely close to signing with Los Blancos, but the transfer has not yet taken place.
In the midst of all the rumors, the president of La Liga, Javier Tebas, has recently commented on the situation, suggesting that Mbappe will almost certainly sign with La Liga at some point in the not-too-distant future.
“No, I’m not convinced, but there is no doubt that this is his destined path.” Tebas stated in a recent interview (via SPORT) that he believes the player will play in La Liga either 70 or 80 percent of the upcoming season.
Real Madrid will have their work cut out for them if they want to sign the French player next summer, but the comments made by the president of La Liga are another indicator of how seriously Real Madrid could pursue the player.
A guaranteed arrival the following summer?
At the conclusion of the current campaign, Mbappe’s contract with PSG will come to an end. The player has not given any indication that he plans to lengthen his stay at Parc des Princes, despite the fact that the contract includes an option to extend it for an additional year.
As a result, Real Madrid is now in a very strong position to sign Mbappe during the summer of 2019. Having said that, the undertaking will not be simple in any way.
The Spanish powerhouses will have to shell out a fortune in order to secure the services of the Frenchman, who will almost certainly demand a lucrative signing bonus that is well in excess of the €100 million mark.
Tebas has already admitted that Real Madrid are in a good position to sign Mbappe, so it is unlikely that finances will be an issue for the club when it comes to making the acquisition.
