La Liga president Javier Tebas believes the odds of Real Madrid signing Kylian Mbappe are rising with each passing day and has backed the Spanish giants to complete more transfers this summer.
Even though Mbappe and his present club, Paris Saint-Germain, have an agreement that would prevent them from losing money in the event of his departure, Madrid is still trying to win the largest free transfer in history as Mbappe enters the last six months of his contract.
When questioned about the possibility of Madrid acquiring Mbappe in January, Tebas gave a 50% likelihood. However, in an interview with Fabrizio Romano, he argued that the probabilities had increased since then.
He said, “I said it was around 50% some weeks ago, now is even more,” asserting that the current rate is more like 60% or 55%. “Every day that passes and Mbappe does not sign the new contract with PSG, the percentage increases.”
Tebas is certain that Madrid can attract further recruits, even if Mbappe’s salary and any signing-on bonus would be enormous. Several players have been mentioned as possible targets, including Bayern Munich left defender Alphonso Davies, Lille center back Leny Yoro, and Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.
“Alphonso Davies and others? Oh my!” According to him, Real are in a great financial position, but he is unsure of how much the Mbappe deal would cost. “They never did crazy things in the recent years.”
Madrid has a number of summer transfer targets, but they are waiting for Mbappe to decide whether or not to join Al Khelaifi.
Regarding his talks with Mbappe, PSG president Julien Favre said, “When we have both decided, we will tell you.”
Despite PSG’s best efforts to retain Mbappe, the club is already scouting possible successors to the Frenchman. Mbappe has already committed to relinquish over €80 million in loyalty payments if he departs this summer.
in only half an hourIf Paris Saint-Germain need offensive reinforcements this summer, they are considering Marcus Rashford of Manchester United and Victor Osimhen of Napoli.
