After a much-anticipated wait, it is finally official. Kylian Mbappe is a Real Madrid player.
The French superstar has signed for Los Blancos on a five-year contract and will be arriving for free after his contract with PSG expired.
As has been widely reported, Mbappe’s move to the Santiago Bernabeu has been in place since February, when he first informed PSG that he does not intend to renew his deal.
Negotiations were never going to be a major problem given how much both parties desired to join hands.
Now that Mbappe has signed for Real Madrid, the Frenchman took to Instagram to express his pleasure at achieving what he called his ‘dream move’.
With an image of himself from his childhood, dressed in a Real Madrid jacket when he was at the club for a trial, Mbappe posted:
“A dream come true. So happy and proud to join the club of my dream, Real Madrid. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now.
“Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support. ¡Hala Madrid!”
As mentioned earlier, Mbappe has signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid, which will keep him at the club until 2029.
The French superstar’s official presentation is expected to take place in July, once the UEFA Euro 2024 is out of the way.
