Real Madrid striker Joselu has slammed former Barcelona defender Gerard Pique for saying that Los Blancos’ previous UEFA Champions League title would be forgotten.
The 33-year-old on-loan striker has answered by claiming that if you don’t remember that final, he is still trying to figure out which one will.
Real Madrid’s most recent UCL victory came in 2022, when Vinicius Jr. scored the game’s lone goal as Madrid defeated Liverpool 1-0 at Stade de France.
“Damn, if you don’t remember that one, I don’t know which one is going to be remembered,” he said, according to COPE.
“Not only because of what happened in the previous matches, but also because of what happened in the final.” I believe it is a title that will not be forgotten. In life, not only for football, but for all that has occurred,” he continued.
When asked why Pique said that, the attacker said, “What do I know, because he is from Barça and would he be envious?”
Joselu’s observations on his term so far
When Vinicius was out with an injury earlier this season, Joselu was assigned the task of scoring goals, and he did not disappoint. The attacker has five goals in 13 La Liga games thus far, and when questioned about his opinions on this season, he stated,
“I can tell you that I am quite delighted with the role I am playing and the contribution I am making. What I want to do is keep contributing and provide answers when the coach needs me on the pitch.
“We’re all aware of the caliber of their group. “I came to help as much as I could, and I believe that when the coach trusted me, I responded quite well by scoring goals and giving the team points,” he stated.
“I have five [goals].” More should coming soon. Finally, we forwards live on that, and I am pleased because the team creates and I have scoring opportunities, but it is hard to score them all since even the greatest players in the world have good and terrible days.
“I am I’m happy with the number of goals, you can always contribute a few more, but I’m left with the fact that the majority of the goals I’ve scored have been for the team to score,” he said.
“I try to improve on the previous season every year.” I scored 17 last year and am hoping to achieve 18 this year. “I think scoring 18 goals is a pretty good number.”
Regarding Real Madrid’s players and management
Rodrygo has lately returned to form, and although he seems to be pleased with his performance, he has said that he does not want to play as a number 9. While discussing it, Joselu said,
“It’s not that he doesn’t want to, but he prefers to start from different places.” In any case, we’ve seen what a terrific player he is, how much he can offer, and how much he’s given in recent days. He’s a wonderful young man.”
When asked about the fitness of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr., Joselu said, “Bellingham? He can easily move from 22 to 23.Vini?”He can do whatever he wants.”
“Vini’s circumstances make him very decisive in a game.” No one can stop him when he is focused and has a purpose in mind.
“We’ve seen it in the last few days; people said he didn’t score goals, and he’s scored three in the last two games.” He is a player who will undoubtedly score 17-18-19 goals.”
When questioned about Carlo Ancelotti, he said, “He has always been very honest and direct with me since the day I arrived.”
“I am very happy because I am always an option among the changes he has; when a player is unavailable, he has counted on me, and I have only words of gratitude.” When he has played, and when he has not.”
Concerning the Barcelona rivalry
In response to a handful of queries about Real Madrid and Barcelona, he said that he is pleased with how his squad is doing at the moment and that there is no comparison with Barcelona.
“The important thing is that they are winning.” A few teams are winning while playing excellent football. Girona is playing terrific football and winning; we’ve played good games and won, but we’ve also played horrible games and won.”
“Well, I believe they are two distinct ‘footballs’ [Real Madrid and Barcelona].” Barça attempted to have possession at the start of the season, and they have suffered a lot in the past few games, but that is also what it consists of, adding three by three,” he stated.
Concerning Yamal, Carvajal, and the choice between Mbappe and Haaland
The 33-year-old striker responded to a variety of questions on specific players, notably Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal, who has been named to Spain’s team for forthcoming qualifiers.
Joselu said that everyone is really concerned about him.”We must take special care of Yamal; he is a jewel in our country, and we must support and assist him on a daily basis.”
“He is a fantastic boy and here what we do is support him because I think he is going to be a fundamental piece in the national team.”
Joselu and Dani Carvajal are brothers-in-law, and when asked how they got along, he answered, “We get along very well, but we do get angry in training.” His wrath in training comes out more, yet the connection is great.
“He’s like a plane; no one can stop him.” Just picture scoring goals and everything. He is an anomaly.”
When asked who of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland he preferred, he said, “Well, in the end, Real Madrid signs the best.”
“I say it out of competition with you: “I have to add, I believe the club is satisfied with me in that area, and the coach needs to have the option that if I can throw, I’m there with a hand in any circumstance.”
He also discussed his teammate Arda Guler’s problems, stating, “Well, he is a boy who arrived very young and has had the unfortunate luck of having a complicated injury.”
“He has incredible conditions, a lot of quality, and you have to be patient with him.”
“Young people want everything from yesterday and now he has had a small relapse, but he is a player for the future who is going to give Real Madrid many things and the club is doing very well with him.”
Finally, he said that he wishes to stay at Real Madrid since he believes he has a lot to offer.”I hope that is my objective. I’m hoping to remain another year and continue to love this. “I know what role I can play for the club, and not all teams have a profile like mine, which is very different from everything,” he said.
