Real Madrid secured yet another comeback victory by defeating Real Sociedad 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday night to maintain their perfect record and return to the summit of the La Liga standings.
Real Madrid fought back after falling behind just five minutes into the match, with Federico Valverde and Joselu scoring in the second half to secure the victory for Carlo Ancelotti and company.
Joselu was pleased with the victory.
Real Madrid’s Joselu scored against La Real for the second time in two games, giving him a total of two goals in two contests. Joselu had previously scored against Celta Vigo and Getafe.
The new player stated after the game, “It was a very difficult and complicated match.” Real Sociedad strives to dominate wherever they compete, and their players are exceptional.
“We need to correct a few things because we gave up an early goal, but this is the Bernabéu, and with the help of our fans in the second half, we were able to come back and win.”
Regarding the accomplishment of yet another remontada, Joselu remarked, “We are consistent and confident in ourselves.” Despite falling behind before halftime, we expected to have opportunities.
This team has a great deal of talent; we were able to recover from behind again; we had a number of excellent opportunities; and we deserved to win.
After netting two goals in two games, Joselu commented on his performance: “I’m very happy to score goals because they help the team win games and earn points.”
The striker discussed his role and what Ancelotti expects of him on the field.
“The coach requests me to be in the box depending on the opponents. There is where I prefer to be. I strive to keep a watchful eye on the opposition defence and when I get an opportunity, like today, I attempt to make the most of it.”
The Spanish international also lauded teammate Valverde, stating, “He is a beast and an animal. Observing him run, it appears that he never runs out of space. I gain knowledge by being here every day.”

Valverde also interacted with the media after the game and emphasized that Real Madrid created numerous opportunities.
We had numerous opportunities to score in the first half, but were unable to do so. They had many opportunities as well, and they scored on their element against us. This affected us, but we persevered as usual,” he said.
The 25-year-old midfielder stated, in reference to his equaliser, which he scored one minute into the second half, “The goal gave us the impetus to go for the win in front of our own supporters.
“I am astounded by that strike. I am pleased to assist the crew. It makes me pleased to contribute in any way to the team, whether it be scoring or assisting.
Regarding his relationship with his colleagues on the field, Valverde stated, “I have an excellent rapport with Carvajal. We are becoming more at ease. When he goes up, I attempt to get the ball up by going down slightly. In contrast, Joselu, Rodrygo, and Bellingham assist me greatly by entering.”
Fran Garcia assisted on two goals
Fran Garcia struggled against Getafe prior to the international break and was replaced at halftime.
On Sunday night, he made a strong recovery against La Real, assisting on Real Madrid’s two goals and earning praise from his manager.
Regarding his performance that evening, the left-back said, “Coming back to the Bernabéu and being able to give the fans affection through assists makes me extremely pleased.
“More than just individual effort, it’s the teammates’ responsibility to send the ball in the net. Now we must consider the next game, as there is little time left.”
Garcia stated, “In this system, Ancelotti expects us full-backs to provide the team with depth and width, and to do our best for the team.”
When asked how it feels to perform in front of a crammed Bernabeu, the defender responded, “It’s incredible, and you enjoy playing here, especially if you’ve been here your entire life, as I have.” This is an incredible experience.
We must be resilient at home, and the support we’ve received has been tremendous.
Regarding the upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Union Berlin, he said, “It’s a competition we enjoy, and we’ll do our best to repay the fans for the support they show us every game.”
