Fabrizio Romano, an expert on the transfer market, has made the announcement that Lucas Vazquez and Real Madrid have reached an agreement on a new deal that would keep him at the club until June 2025.
There will be a final meeting in the near future to finalize the contents of the deal and sign it, which is similar to the procedure that Real Madrid used in order to acquire Luka Modric.
After Real Madrid’s triumph against Borussia Dortmund, the attention soon went to Vazquez’s future with the club. It is crucial to remember that Vazquez’s current contract with Real Madrid was scheduled to expire at the end of this month. This is the reason why the emphasis switched to Vazquez’s future with the team.
While all was going on, Vazquez was questioned about the likelihood of extending his contract after the Champions League final, particularly when his future with the club seemed to be unclear. He responded by saying, “I don’t know.”
The answer is yes, it seems that I will continue to play for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid value Vazquez
A few weeks ago, Real Madrid made the choice to ensure that Vazquez would remain with the club beyond the duration of his present deal.
After Vazquez shown that the team does not need significant changes on the right side of the defense just yet, the senior officials of the club made the decision to maintain Vazquez and Dani Carvajal as their right-backs for the next season. This choice was taken after Vazquez demonstrated that the decision was made.
Despite the fact that there is no predetermined timetable for concluding the renewal, things seem to be going in the right direction since Vazquez and the club are both looking for the same result. According to reports, Real Madrid is delighted with his performance and considers him to be a strong backup for Carvajal.
When it comes to Vazquez, he has constantly communicated his desire to continue playing for the club, and it seems that Real Madrid shares this view, as the contract extension between the two parties is very close to being finalized between them.
It is the coaching staff as well as the board of directors of the club that are on his side.
It should come as no surprise that other teams have shown interest in the Spaniard, given that he would have been eligible to become a free agent the following summer. Vazquez, on the other hand, rejected an offer from Juventus, so demonstrating that he had no intention of leaving Real Madrid.
