While the whole world is focused on the European Championships, which are scheduled to start in Germany in a little over a week, there is also a substantial amount of interest in the summer transfer window for teams all over the world.
Despite the fact that Real Madrid has already completed the most significant acquisition of the summer in the shape of Kylian Mbappe, it is quite evident that Los Blancos are not yet finished.
Even if they are still positioned on a solid financial basis, the men in white will continue to hunt for big-name acquisitions in the years to come. It should not come as a surprise that they have already been associated with numerous young talents who are expected to be the stars of the show. Florian Wirtz is an example of such a name.
A confession with a German accent
at his time on national team duty, the young player from Bayer Leverkusen was questioned by the media at a press conference. The questions focused on his relationship with fellow countryman Jamal Musiala as well as his prospects for the club level.
The two of us like playing together. In an interview with Florian Plettenberg, Wirtz stated, “I think it’s fair to say that we’ve joked a few times about playing together someday and spending even more time together.” He went on to explain that he would like playing alongside Musiala for the whole year.
In a follow-up question, he was asked if it was more probable that the reunion would take place at Bayern Munich or Real Madrid. In response, he said, “It is probably going to be at Real Madrid.”
It’s a difficult question to answer. For Bayern, Jamal is already a member of the team. It is still the case that I am at ease at Leverkusen,” he said.
In spite of the fact that the comment is insufficiently specific to allow for any inferences to be drawn, it is reasonable to assume that Wirtz’s response did not completely exclude the prospect of the two individuals playing for Los Blancos.
Simply the fact that a player who is financially tied to a different club has made such an admission is a significant step forward in the right direction.
Situations that the player is in
In spite of the fact that he is just 21 years old, Wirtz is already considered to be one of the most promising young talents in the world of football. His previous season with Bayer Leverkusen is evidence of this reputation.
The teenager played for the club in the Bundesliga for a total of 32 matches, during which time he scored 11 goals and provided the same number of assists. To add insult to injury, he made 12 significant opportunities and averaged 2.3 vital passes per game.
It would be very expensive for Real Madrid to make a move at this point in time since his current contract with Leverkusen is set to expire in the summer of 2027.
It was thought that the Merengues had a deal to sign the player in 2025; however, new sources have stated that there is no such understanding in place. No such arrangement has been established.
Los Blancos will have a difficult time acquiring Musiala since he is the most prized possession of Bayern Munich and because he is a great player. On the other hand, the fact that his contract in Germany is set to expire in 2026 makes him a little more desirable target.
