Federico Valverde told the riveting tale of the day that altered his life forever in a post for The Players’ Tribune. The brilliant player, who is now an important member of Real Madrid’s midfield, recalled the bizarre moment he joined Los Blancos.
The narrative begins with the midfielder describing the South American Under-17 Championship.
“I was playing at the South American Under-17 Championship in Paraguay and got the call that changed my whole life,” he said.
A call from his mother would start a fairy-tale adventure as he rested in his hotel room.”Hey, come right now to our room. There are some folks here who would want to speak with you. Fede, please come immediately. “These are Real Madrid men,” Valverde’s mother stated.
The young player hurried to his parents’ room in surprise, expecting a hoax. Upon arriving, however, he was welcomed by two strangers speaking Castilian rather than South American Spanish, confirming the seriousness of the issue.
“They don’t come from around here.” “Is this true?”Valverde questioned, still reeling from the gravity of the situation.
Real Madrid personnel were quick to show their interest, telling him, “We believe you can become a star for us.” We’d want you and your folks to relocate to Madrid.”
Needless to say, Valverde was taken aback.”With 500,000 players in the world, Madrid wants to sign me?” At that point, he yelled, “What?”
“Shut up, Fede,” his mother said, her eyes welling up with tears. We’re not going to meddle with you.”
Valverde immediately informed his father, who originally regarded the idea as ludicrous.”Is Madrid here?” What’s going on up there? So, what exactly are you doing down here? “Get back up there, you moron!” his father said.
“That was the first perfect day of my life,” said Valverde.”When I look back on my life, I’ve had three ideal days. The first was the day Real Madrid approached me, the second was the birth of my son Benicio, and the third was the birth of my son Bautista.”
Since then, the Uruguayan international has not looked back and has established himself as an important member of Real Madrid’s team.
Valverde has joined RM Castilla.
Federico Valverde began his Real Madrid career with RM Castilla. The midfielder recalls being stunned when he visited the locker room for the first time.
“I walked into the dressing room after my first training session with Real Madrid Castilla like I was walking on clouds.” I was so sure of myself.Vamos.”I don’t remember anything about training,” he said.
“It was all a blur. But I remember later, everyone was getting dressed, and I was looking about, soaking it all in, and then I started noticing what everyone was wearing,” he continued.
Valverde in the island of Baena
Moving on from his time at Real Madrid, Federico Valverde discussed the Alex Baena incident.
An alleged assault incident happened earlier this year between Real Madrid player Federico Valverde and Villarreal winger Alex Baena. Valverde was said to have hit Baena at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium car lot after the game.
“Everyone is aware of the news. They are aware of both sides of the’story.’ I don’t want to bring up these unpleasant memories. “All I have to say is this,” remarked Valverde.
“You can call me almost anything on a football field, and it doesn’t bother me.” For God’s sake, I’m Uruguayan. However, there are certain boundaries that must not be crossed. “Not as a footballer, but as another human being,” Valverde remarked, referring to the reportedly crossed boundaries during the incident.
“When I talk about my family, it’s no longer about football.” “A line was crossed that day,” the midfielder said.
“Should I have responded?” Perhaps not. Perhaps I should have gone home and enjoyed a burger with my kid, along with some chicken nuggets and cartoons. But I am a human being, and you have to stand up for yourself and your family occasionally,” he continued.
Needless to say, the episode made quite a stir among the Spanish football community. As it happens, Valverde got the opportunity to have the last word on the subject, as he supplied some critical insights into the conflict.
On trial at Arsenal
It is no secret that Valverde might have played for Arsenal before joining Real Madrid. When he was 16, the midfielder had a trial with the north London club, but the deal did not go through.
“It’s nothing against Arsenal, but I never wanted to go to England,” the Uruguayan said. The business aspect of football took control at that point. ‘Who wouldn’t want to go play for Arsenal?’ said several. Do you wish to remain in Uruguay? That’s insane!”
“They sent me to London on trial for a week, and I just wasn’t at ease.” If you simply consider material things, it sounds fantastic. But we are not machines. The fact was that my family could not accompany me to London. At 16, I’d have to live alone, not knowing the language.”
