A victory against Celta Vigo would have allowed Real Madrid to regain their seven-point advantage at the top of the league over Girona and eight points over Barcelona. Real Madrid had the opportunity to do so today. In addition, they did not fail to produce as was anticipated.
A resounding victory by a score of 4-0 allowed Madrid to easily secure three points, with Celta Vigo posing very little to no danger.
It was Vinicius Jr. who kicked off the assault in the 21st minute, and then it was back-to-back own goals scored in the 79th and 88th minutes that effectively clinched the deal for the game. The icing on the cake was scored by Arda Guler, who scored his maiden goal in white during the addition of time.
In the aftermath of the victory, Carlo Ancelotti was questioned about the performance of his players, and he did not hesitate to draw parallels between it and the terrible performance he saw against RB Leipzig in the UCL earlier this week.
To do better than Wednesday was not difficult at all.
In addition, he said that “every match is important,” and that “this game could have been a trap game.”
His attention was drawn to Luka Modric, who, despite the fact that he did not score or assist in any of the games that took place today, was undeniably the player of the match.
“Luka had a fantastic performance throughout the game. The reason why the crowd cheer him is not because they believe that this will be his last game, but rather because of his amazing performance.
Ancelotti took the time to have a few private minutes with his players after the victory, which he did in order to get them excited about the victory. When he was asked to explain what he had said to them, he responded by saying, “I told Vinicius that he is the best.” Finally, I sent the same message to Rudiger and Nacho.
The manager continued by saying, “Rudiger is not only a fantastic player, but he is also focused,” referring to the German center defender.
As a matter of fact, one of the topics of discussion was Guler’s decision to finally break the impasse with his Madrid account.
“Arda Guler has a future here at Real Madrid,” remarked manager Carlo Ancelotti in reference to the Turkish miracle worker.
In spite of the fact that he had played relatively little, he was certain that he could do something. He maneuvered with a great deal of expertise. At this point in his career, he has made significant progress and is playing with a higher level of energy. Without a shadow of a doubt, he has a future in this space.
