Carlo Ancelotti is expected to give Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos a more major role this season. Ceballos is projected to play a more significant role.
According to a recent report from AS, Ancelotti has given Ceballos the assurance that he will be an integral part of the squad this summer. Furthermore, despite rumors that he may be moving back to Real Betis, Ceballos continues to be a player for Real Madrid.
As the transfer window came to a close, there was a degree of ambiguity regarding whether Ceballos would continue to play for Real Madrid or whether he would go back to Betis, the club where he started his professional career.
Betis felt strongly about bringing him back, and the club had been considering the prospect of doing so for some time. But the offer that they offered did not even come close to satisfying the requirements that Real Madrid had set down. As a direct consequence of this, the negotiations never made significant progress.
When Betis made steps to transfer Nabil Fekir to Al Jazira, there was a substantial increase in the amount of interest in Ceballos. In light of the fact that the sale of Fekir might bring Betis up to €5 million, including the possibility of bonuses, and free up some of their wage budget, the club is contemplating the possibility of bolstering their midfield.
Betis had Ceballos and Giovani Lo Celso in mind as two players who were already recognizable to them. As a result of Betis’s decision to bring Lo Celso back, the club has secured his services until the year 2028.
Ceballos was open to exit
Ceballos, who played for a total of only 846 minutes during the previous season, voiced his willingness to leave in order to increase the amount of playing time he received. With this information in mind, Betis made a modest offer to Real Madrid on Thursday of last week.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, took a hard stand about the value of Ceballos, establishing a price of twenty million euros for the player, who is now under contract until the year 2027. Betis made an offer that was appreciably lower than the sum that Madrid was asking for.
There was no further development in the negotiations after Thursday, and by Friday afternoon, Betis had declared that they had reached a deal with Tottenham to bring Lo Celso back for a fee of five million euros, in addition to a preference option on Johnny Cardoso.
Since the transfer window has now ended, it is now abundantly evident that Ceballos will continue to be a member of Real Madrid’s squad. Ceballos has been reassured by Ancelotti of his significance to the squad throughout the current season, and it has been suggested that he may participate in as many as forty games.
Despite the fact that he has only played a few minutes so far this season—coming on in the dying minutes of both the Super Cup and a match against Valladolid—the lengthy season that lies ahead, in conjunction with the unavailability of key players such as Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham, may offer him with more opportunity to play in the middle of the field.
In order to demonstrate that he is capable of fulfilling the job that Ancelotti has promised him, Ceballos has decided to remain in his current position.
