As the epic battle between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in the final of the UEFA Champions League gets closer, the level of anticipation continues to rise with each passing day.
After defeating some of the most formidable and well-liked teams in the league, such as Manchester City and Bayern Munich, the Merengues are now going to face off against a squad that was not anticipated to have made it this far in the game.
However, it is not anticipated that the dark horses of the Champions League would make the final a walk in the park for Real Madrid, and failing to adequately anticipate their performance might prove to be disastrous.
In his remarks, Borussia Dortmund’s coach discusses the matchup.
During a news conference, Borussia coach Edin Terzic expressed his optimism for the impending encounter. The German-Croatian coach was confident in his team’s prospects of winning the match.
According to Terzic, “This is the time for Real Madrid’s run of eight wins in eight finals to end.” This bold declaration was made in spite of the fact that the Merengues are considered to be unbeatable in championship matches.
During the 1997–1998 season, Borussia Dortmund achieved their one and only victory in the UEFA Champions League.
Accordingly, Terzic is not happy with only receiving a silver medal for participation; rather, he has the intention of bringing the coveted trophy back to his native country once again.
Simply being in the final is not enough for us to feel content. Now is the time for us to send the trophy to Dortmund. This is the closest we have been in a very long time. He yelled, “Hell, it’s been a damn long time!”
The coach, who is 41 years old, said that the team’s attention and preparation are fully focused on this vital encounter. It is easily seen that they are placing this game at the top of their priority list above all other games.
We are now waiting for the very last boss. This one game is going to be the focus of all that we do. Anything is possible while playing a game. He responded that if anybody has shown that, it is us.
As a result of the fact that Borussia was able to secure a seat in the championship game by overcoming heavyweights such as Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, Terzic’s words have weight, and Real Madrid cannot afford to be complacent in the next matchup.
