The future of Alphonso Davies has been a talking point in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Canadian international has been a long-time target of Real Madrid, as the club look to shore up their options in the left-back department.
Davies’ contract in Bavaria expires at the end of next season. While many expected him to leave Bayern this summer, Real Madrid have found it difficult to reach an agreement with the Bundesliga giants.
This came even though Bayern were reported to have lost their hopes of renewing the contract of Davies.
Bayern weighing up new offer for Davies
However, a recent report from Diario SPORT suggests Bayern Munich are weighing up a fresh offer for Davies.
This comes on the back of Vincent Kompany’s attempts to convince the player to stay at Allianz Arena, coupled with Real Madrid’s unwillingness to sign the player for a premium.
The Spanish giants, in fact, had set a strict price tag for Davies, which Bayern Munich were not willing to accept. Real Madrid’s reluctance has not impressed the Davies and it appears the player could consider a prolonged spell at Allianz Arena after all.
That is because Bayern Munich are reportedly considering meeting Davies’ wage demands, which is around €16 million per year.
However, it must be noted that Davies has rejected all of Bayern’s attempts so far, meaning the Bavarians must come up with a really good offer if they are to convince the player to stay.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, appear more than happy to continue with Ferland Mendy, with Carlo Ancelotti putting immense faith in the French international.
The upcoming days, therefore, could prove to be crucial as Bayern Munich look to reach an agreement with Davies.
